El Deseo
La Padorniña is a unique estate located in Villafranca de El Bierzo (León). Its acquisition meant the recovery of one of the most emblematic vineyards of the place. Today, in La Padorniña, the qualities of Mencía and Godello reach their maximum expression and give rise to unique organic and site wines. The best will always be the most desired.
Organic viticulture
Viticulture without overexploitation and where only organic fertilizers are used creates grapes of exceptional quality that give rise to aromatic and expressive wines. In 2020 the Tenoira Gayoso winery obtained organic farming certification for all its wines.
Site Wines
D.O. Bierzo
Our wines are classified according to their place of origin within the demarcation of the D.O.Bierzo. This classification can give rise to village or "paraje" wines, among other categories. Each of these has a different level of quality and control requirements and is always superior to the "regional" wine, recognized and protected by the D.O. Bierzo. The yield per hectare of the paraje wines is 25% more than that required for the generic wines of the D.O. Bierzo.
The hand that molds the cluster
The hand that tends the vineyard also shapes the cluster. We use only the best grapes, selected and picked by hand, to create natural and delicate wines. The wine begins on the vine and expresses the terroir.
